After a 34-year career in the telecommunications industry, I retired to pursue new avenues. I became a real estate broker, enjoying the opportunity to help people sell their homes and/or find the new home of their dreams. When my husband and I decided to build our retirement home, we met the Downstream team and immediately felt like one of the “family.” When their business expanded and they needed admin help, I became an “official” team member.
What was the best vacation you’ve gone on and why?
A two-week motorcycle trip out west to South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Yellowstone Park and the Rockies. It made me realize that there is so much to see in the U.S. I vowed not to vacation outside of the country until I saw more of my own. Alaska next!
Who has been a big inspiration in your life and why?
My husband, Jim. In our 36+ years of marriage, we have had many challenges to overcome. He has always stayed positive and on course, never taking the “easy” way out of something and never losing hope.
What’s your favorite hobby?
Motorcycling, kayaking and snowmobiling.
If you had to pick one place on Earth as your favorite, what would it be?
Right where I am in the retirement home built by Downstream Construction.
Best advice you have been given?
Live every day like it’s your last.
Best advice you could give someone who is looking to do what you do?
In the worlds of Confucius, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
